Shelby Driver, M.A., LPC, ATR-P I Therapist 

 

Shelby (she/her/hers) is an INFP who enjoys building collaborative, supportive, and creative relationships with clients. She obtained her bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Kent State University and her masters degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College. She has extensive experience leading groups at Cleveland Clinic Akron General’s DBT IOP program and the HELMS Foundation, as well as providing individual counseling services at Wellness Grove in Canton, Ohio.

 

Shelby is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is an art therapist in training. She is supervised by Anjelica Nelson, IMFT-S, LPCC-S and Lindsy Rivera, LSW, LPCC-S, LPAT, ATR-BC. She utilizes DBT and CBT skills to help clients improve emotional regulation and distress tolerance while addressing unhelpful beliefs or assumptions. She also utilizes a feminist approach to therapy to help clients identify and break down issues created by patriarchal systems.

 

She works with clients ages 13 and up, and has worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, dissociative disorders, ADHD, life transitions, phase of life issues, anger, body dysmorphia, women’s issues, and LGBTQI+ issues. She is especially passionate about working with those who have experienced religious trauma.

 

Shelby loves living in Northeast Ohio. When she’s not seeing clients, she enjoys knitting, hiking, writing poetry, and reading. She is a strong advocate for libraries and enjoys learning through books, audiobooks, and podcasts.
