Emma Poretsky, M.A., IMFT I Therapist 

Emma is an INFP who is dedicated to working with families, couples, and individuals who are experiencing difficulty setting boundaries, healing from past adverse experiences, relational trauma, and strengthening one’s value of self. Emma is a graduate of The University of Akron’s Master of Marriage Family Therapy program and is a licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist. Emma also has specialized training in perinatal mental health.

 

Emma provides empowering care through utilizing an integrative approach. Emma is trained to think from a systemic viewpoint. She includes Emotion Focused Therapy, CBT, Strategic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and various Gottman interventions in her sessions. Emma works to create a welcoming environment where clients can allow their true selves to be free and valued. Emma has experience and training in supporting the impact family planning conversations and the perinatal period can have on the relationship with yourself and others. She knows that every client has unique needs and deserves a unique therapeutic experience. In her free time, Emma enjoys listening to music, exploring new places, and spending time with her family and pets. She sees families with children ages 7+, individuals ages 18+, and couples. Emma understands that scheduling therapy services can be intimidating and is happy you are taking the first step today.
